Ben Ellefson
With two decades of architecture experience, Ben has worked on several project types including urban design, site planning, mixed use developments, civic projects, higher education, and healthcare. Using his creative and technical insight he strives for aesthetic excellence and functionally sound architecture. He is skilled at employing principles of lean design and integrated project delivery. Working closely with contractors, consultants, and clients, he ensures quality documentation from concept through construction. Ben is a registered architect in Michigan and California as well as a LEED certified professional. Inspired by the energy and creativity of students and academia, Ben has been a guest juror at Cal Poly Pomona, SCI-arc, Otis College of Art and Design, and Lawrence Technological University. He has also been an adjunct faculty member at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Architecture teaching all levels of design studio from introducing first-year students to the abstractions of form, scale, and composition to working with 3rd and 4th year students to engage with community members to design meaningful and functional spaces that enrich the environments of the end-users.
